Holly introduced our exchange student, Gabe Arce. Gabe is from Cordoba City in the Cordoba Provice in Central Argentina. The city is home to 1.3 million people and was named after Cordoba, Spain. They have hot summers and and cool winters. Their government is a federal constitutional republic with a representative democracy. Gabe showed pictures of some monuments left over from the colonial era and let us listen to some typical music. Cuarteto can be heard at parties and pubs and young people like listening to electro or reggaeton music. Some festivals celebrated in Cordoba include 'Friends Day' on July 20 and 'Spring Day' on Sept. 21. Over 150,000 people attend an annual music festival at Cosquin Rock in February. Asado is one of Gabe's favorite foods. It is a barbeque eaten most Sundays. Gabe attended LaSalle High School which is a private, Catholic school. He lives with his mom and dad, Monica and Ramon and has 1 brother and 1 sister.
