wellness report

Mike Muscolino reported that following Lenny Colovito’s death his son will be moving back to Newark, purchasing his parent’s home and looking for work.

Sarah (that we all knew as Yancey) was the daughter of Margi and Jim Beale.  She was the ‘Sarah’ of Sarah Coventry.  Her obituary noted she was 71 and living in Perinton.

We are sad to announce that Jean Williams is NOT SIXTY - type-o !!

healthy moment

Grace Norcott demonstrated a stress reliever, encouraging group participation.

Take a deep breath - inhale with gratitude, then exhale and let go of anxieties as you roar like a lion.  IT WORKS!!

joke of the week

In Gary’s absence, President Donna had the distinct pleasure of relating the latest cow joke.

What do you call a sleeping cow?  A bulldozer ( Another groaner! )

I couldn’t write fast enough so you’ll have to ask Gary about his receding hairline.

club announcements

Good News - even during a pandemic, golf is doable.  Newark already has 3 teams ready for August 14th.  There’s still time to contribute and buy the 11 remaining raffle tickets.  We have raised $1,150 so far for Camp Onseyawa.

Peter Blandino was pleased to announce that we have 29 people that have signed up to be a Premier Sponsor. We are ahead of our goal!  Marc was able to update the Rotary website - our sponsor dollars at work.

President Donna read a thank you from Habitat for Humanity.  With our contributions they have been able to  construct a “new build” at 149 West Pearl Street.

We are pleased to have our new member, Lucina Hallagan, chairing our new committee on Diversity.

Jeff Patchen has replaced Marc Kreuser in the position of Club Secretary.  He announce that Josh McCrossen (another new member) will be the Chairperson for the Public Image Committee.  We want to change or add to the community’s image of Rotary - it’s not just about BBQ’s and pancake breakfasts.  If you can help in the areas of social media, photography, public speaking, advertising or event planning please get in touch with Jeff, Norma or Josh.

Meeting in Person

Holly has been working with Mike Muscolino to make an In-person meeting possible at the Alex Eligh Community Center. On August 6th we will meet in the lower level of the Center.  We will sit theater style wearing masks AT ALL TIMES.  Please eat before or after the meeting.

On August 13th we will meet again at the Community Center - entering at the side door by the Skate Park.  Please plan to purchase a lunch provided by Nana’s to take home.  Lunch is $12 or you can pay $3 to attend.
