Bob Bendix reported that his sister, Jean is doing well, continuing to improve following her knee surgery.
Jean Bendix reported that Richard VanLaeken’s wife, Chelle has an inoperable brain tumor and has returned home from the hospital.
HEALTHY MOMENT
The holiday season can be mentally challenging in these times of quarantining. Grace Norcott recommended letting go of what we consider as obligations. Think of things you can do to enjoy the holidays. RELAX and make it joyful!

NEWS FLASH - church bulletins are back. Thank God for the church ladies with their computers. These sentences actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced at church services:

The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement of Friday afternoon.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
DAVE DOEBLER reported that even with the good weather, there were fewer shoppers this year. We have currently raised $739.64 for the Salvation Army. So far, 26 Rotarians have volunteered to ring the bell. We will need more ringers as Anne Rogers will be coordinating this project for the rest of the Christmas season.
PRESIDENT DONNA reported on the Premier Sponsor Program. We are still looking for individuals/businesses to contribute a one-time donation of $250 for the year. As a thank-you, we will advertise your name on our website, in our newsletter, and at every public event. For the month of December we will have the project boards on display in the LNB lobby. They tell a visual story of where Premier Sponsor Money is spent and lists all of our current Premier Sponsors. As part of the December display, we will be raffling off a wine basket to all of the people who sign up as a Premier Sponsor.
MITCH RUFFALO thanked his committee for all their hard work. As displayed on each table, our club had donated a literacy-themed tree that was auctioned off as part of Family Promise’s tree auction fundraiser
FRED HICKS reported that the foundation committee will meet on December 17th following our regular meeting. He is hoping to reach the $11,000 goal by the end of December.
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES
President Donna announced the December birthdays and anniversaries. Chuck Waterman led us in singing to meet his red badge requirement.
HAPPY MOMENTS
Bob Bendix was happy to report that their daughter, Aubrey is working on a film in London - to return in February.
Mitch Ruffalo is happy about his son’s proposal to Katy Lockwood. 2021 wedding plans to follow. Chet Poplaski says “Hello” - home from Poland.
Scott Healy was happy to give $5 for a Syracuse win.
Donna is helping her kids with “homeschooling” 3 mornings a week. Her son made high honors and her daughter was chosen as student of the month.
Steve Taylor had good news and bad. He hit a deer with only one headlight on his car being damaged. He explained that he likes to hunt with his car! When his wife yells “Slow Down” he says “I’M HUNTING!
COMMITTEE REPORTS
COMMUNITY SERVICE - Mitch Ruffalo reported that we will again be participating in the Living Waters project. We need people to be involved in training and traveling to Mexico in 2021.
FUNDRAISING - The recent chicken and biscuit dinner raised $1,500. A Lasagna dinner is planned for January and our usual BBQ will be held on Father’s Day in June.
MEMBERSHIP - Melissa Correia was pleased to announce that Lynn Mooney won $50 for submitting the most possible new member names. The committee is planning to reach out to members who have not met with us since August.
DEI - Lucina reported that her committee is working on speakers for January which is Diversity Month. They are meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3;30.
ADMINISTRATION - Marc Kreuser and Bob Bendix are working to complete the by-laws.
YOUTH SERVICES - Michele McManus reported that because of the pandemic there are no exchange students this year. Holly is writing a job description for a new Interact co-ordinator.
PUBLIC IMAGE - Josh McCrossen has been meeting with Marc Kreuser as they look for a “Social Media Leader”. The new Newark Rotary brochure is ready to be presented to the board. Lucina will be presented with a questionaire to be filled out as we lead into Diversity Month.
