Jim Weiler is sad that his Cleveland Browns lost last weekend.
Kevin Mooney - he and Lynn just returned from a trip to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Drove 5500 miles in 97 hours! Had a great time!
Doug Forgue - traveled to Oregon to visit his son. Also went to Seattle to watch the Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners!
Clay DePew - just returned from a Viking River Cruise - unfortunately came home with COVID. Reminder - if you are traveling wear a face mask!
Norma attended Zone institute in Toronto as a Learning Leader. Reminder that there are 2 training opportunities coming up - The Rotary Leadership Institute on Oct. 19 in Victor — please see Norma if you are interested. We have funds to send 2 Rotarians.
Marc and Ryan went to Atlantic City and competed in a triathlon. Ryan came in 84th out of 1500.

Program: Steve Hasseler introduced Val Curtis, Intake Coordinator at ARC Wayne.
Val shared that ARC Wayne provides Community, Mental Health, Vocational and Day Habilitation Services. Roosevelt Children's Center is under their umbrella. They also provide speech, physical and occupational therapy, as well as provide psychological and cognitive assessments.
Wayne ARC provides many services in our community that people are often unaware of such as holding the Wayne County contract to provide and deliver meals to seniors’ homes on behalf of the Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth. They also support a lunch program in the summer serving 120 lunches daily, Monday through Thursday for 5 consecutive weeks.
They are well known for supporting several residential homes around the county. They have converted one of the group homes in Palmyra into apartments. Wayne ARC has found the clients don’t like the model of a group home, but often need help with skills needed to live completely independent. Wayne ARC provides some staff supervision combines with technology to help assist with things like prompting residents about taking medication
There are many levels of assessments to determine which clients are good candidates for the different levels of independent living.
There are some incentives for employers like tax rebates or ARC Wayne may offer all of the supervision. They also offer “group work” which allows clients to work in teams with one supervisor. Wayne ARC is a vital organization in Wayne County who provides much needed services.

Tracy Zornow's application for active membership in the Newark Rotary Club was approved by the board during it's September meeting. Tracy is a former member of the Newark Rotary Club and wishes to rejoin. "I love the people and serving community." is reason for coming back to the club. Tracy is a realtor with Empire Realty Group located at 506 West Union St. Her sponsor is John Zornow.
