Summer has arrived in New York State and with it comes the Rotary Change-Over. My first official meeting will be on Thursday, July 2, 2026 and I am anxious to begin my year in office. My first official act must be to thank out-going President Chuck Waterman for leading our Club with the dignity and professionalism Newark has come to expect. Under his leadership and guidance, the Newark Rotary Club was able to provide assistance to both our community and our international partners. Chuck was able to do all of this through the hard work and generosity of our Membership and even end his term in office in the black. A big thanks to President Chuck Waterman, his Committee Chairs and the Rotary Board of Directors.
Now, as we go forward, we must continue to plan and organize the upcoming year. This is the 100th Anniversary of the Newark, NY Rotary Club and we already have an organizing committee with plans to involve our community, social media, radio and print in celebrating this once in a century event. For Rotarians, there will be a dinner and gala event on October 23, 2026 at the Clifton Springs Country Club. This is a date to save.
However, it is our fund raising events such as the Newark Family Festival, the raffle and the Pancake Breakfast that provide us with the resources necessary to help our neighbors. It is the Rotarian that gives of their time and money to make these projects a success and it is because of your giving, I am proud to be your President.
On Saturday we celebrate the 250th year of our Nation’s founding and the Independence our fore fathers fought and died for. Please celebrate safely!!!
We meet at the Newark American Legion. We also make our meetings available via Zoom. If you are not a club member and wish to watch us on Zoom, please email us for the link. All are welcome to attend our in-person meetings.
