Last Week's Meeting

President Holly conducted another virtual Rotary meeting, this week from the Virginia Tech campus  (well that’s what it looked like on my computer)!

Thursday was National Antique Day - Holly sent a special shout out to Susie Earl.

Susie  appreciates any recognition!  She wanted us all to acknowledge the Hallagans for there service above self efforts in the production of masks for the area hospitals.  Our board donated $3,000 to Hallagans for face masks.  Jean Bendix announced that the project will continue for at least 3 more weeks. There are 95 sewers following a diagram posted by Ann Rogers.

The Bob Goodman blood drive has been rescheduled for June 24th.

Club Announcements/Happy Moments

John Zornow talked to Charlie Hallagan(TV star on the Ashton Place ad).  Charlie said that making the masks was not the first time that Hallagan mfg has stepped up to the plate to help our country.  In the last World War they made sleeping bags for the troops.

Note from John:  It's a small world. John Zornow, a driver for the Hallagan Healthcare effort, transported another shipment of face masks on Thursday for
sewing by volunteers in the Clifton Park area. As per usual he met a
another volunteer driver at exit 34 of the thruway who took it from
there. The driver was Clifton Park resident Ken Hannan, brother of Dave.

Jean Bendix has been seen meeting Ramon in the Wegman’s parking lot.

Steve Taylor is enjoying his new hair stylist.  Looks a lot like Evie!

Grace Norcott wants us to join her for some virtual exercise.  Monday - Silver sneakers and Wednesdays is chair aerobics on ZOOM.

Kevin Mooney attended a Palmyra Rotary Meeting - Parkwood Heights is in need of masks. He may get help from the office of the aging.

Wellness Report

Welcome back Pat Albrecht!  Mary Jo Fenyn had sad news of Bill Peck losing his daughter Maureen to Covid  19.

Bunny Basket Deliveries

Holly helped out the bunny this year with homes under quarantine by dropping off Easter baskets to several Rotarians.  We also participated in a virtual auction.  Basket winners were Carol Nary - $25, Russ Harris - $40 and Karen Quartaro - $40.
