Creative Masks

In this pandemic era President Holly challenged us to get creative with face masks.  Many members put out great efforts to display their creativity.  Michele McManus was very fancy, Steve Mooney made me laugh - glasses were a nice touch, Kevin Mooney was ready for combat.

Many were very colorful.  Fred and I did our best bird impersonations and Marc and Holly will be paying a fine for NOT participating!

Wellness Report

Michele McManus reported that her torn miniscus surgery follow-up went well and she will have one more check up in 3 weeks..

Sharon SanAngelo had a painful car ride to her follow up appointment following back surgery where they removed THIRTY staples.  She will have one more, hopefully less painful follow-up in 4 weeks.

Hannelora accidentally timed her washing machine shopping to join Mitch Ruffalo(at Ruffalo Appliance) for our Zoom meeting.  She and Helmuth appreciate all the cards and well wishes from their “wonderful Rotary family”.

On the Road with Ramon

One benefit to a Zoom meeting is being able to attend, even from your car!  With Donna Johnson at the wheel, Ramon was able to join us for his last meeting before heading back to Switzerland.  He made many friends and has great memories from his year abroad.  He found the Finger Lakes to be a beautiful area.  Some of the year’s highlights were trips to NYC, Niagara Falls and Washington DC with the Senior class.  He enjoyed playing on the varsity Soccer team and was honored to be the team captain. He was only able to play 2 weeks of Lacrosse before the Covid 19 quarantine put a halt to School and all activities.  Even with the unexpected ending, he felt that this was “the best year of his life”.

On June 11th Ramon will fly from Washington to Germany and finally to Switzerland. He promises to come back next year with his family.

Club Announcements

Kevin Mooney announced that 61 members have paid their dues with 49 to go. The deadline is June 15th.

June 16th is the final board meeting for this Rotary year. Returning to lunches at the American Legion will be discussed.

Jan Hence was pleased to hear that all the BBQ workers have signed up for the Father’s Day event.  Marc and Holly will get two tables from the legion and set up the banner on Saturday.

Gary Reillly was sad to announce that Camp Onseyawa has been cancelled for this year.  The annual Golf tournament has been moved to August 14th at Silver Creek.  On October 14th there will be a fund raising dinner for the camp at Club 86.

Following next Thursdays meeting please stay for the brainstorming meeting.

Mike Muscolino was pleased that our NY Governor gave the go-ahead for summer day camps which includes our camp at Perkins Park.

Happy Moments

Marc and Holly are pleased to announce that they no longer have any teenagers living in their house as Grace is turning 20.  More good news - Megan and Carlos are getting a place of their own.  A huge help with the grocery bill!!
