Hi Newark Rotarians,
It’s March, and we have only 20 days until spring! Soon we will hear the birds chirping and see the flowers blooming. I’m looking forward to the change of season and all that spring brings.
It also means that, for you lucky club members, you only have four more months of me as your club president! I’m looking forward to making the most of these next few months together as we continue living out Service Above Self.
Calling All Newark Rotarians!
In March, we welcome back our Pancake Breakfast on March 14, 2026. Our club members have been busy planning, selling tickets, and signing up to help that day. It promises to be a fun and rewarding event as we interact with the community we love and serve.
Don’t forget that our Family Fest is right around the corner! The date is set for August 22, 2026, and the committee has already been hard at work to make this our best year yet.
I would love to see this be the year that the majority of our club members get involved — serve on a planning committee, bring your fresh ideas, or volunteer on the day of the event. The fundraising and sponsorships we secure make our generosity possible, but it all begins with the generosity of our members — your time and talents.
Please reach out to Norma or me, and we will gladly connect you with a committee.
Let’s make it a great season of Service Above Self!
Exciting News for Newark Rotary
Additionally, if you haven’t been to a club meeting recently, you may not be aware that the Newark Rotary Club has started a Satellite Club — and it is especially exciting because it is the first in District 7120!
So, what is a satellite club? A Rotary satellite club is an extension of an existing “host” club. It offers flexibility in meeting times, projects, and dues, allowing at least eight members to form a new group with reduced requirements. Members are full Rotarians and part of the sponsor club, often focusing on reaching demographics — such as young professionals or specific locations — that a traditional club may not be able to serve as effectively.
I am excited that this group is connected to us and brings fresh ideas about how to serve our community. A special thank you to Holly Kreuser for her hard work in making this happen.
Together, we continue to grow, adapt, and serve.
As we spring into spring and prepare to change the clocks, gaining more daylight each evening, let’s continue to work together in service to our community. Together, we can make the most of this season of renewed energy and opportunity as we live out Service Above Self.
