Last Week's Meeting

President Holly greeted us all with a virtual high five on National High-Five Day.  She failed to tell us earlier that it was also National Wear your Pajamas to Work Day. Would have been easy to comply in our state of quarantine!!

The Bob Goodman memorial blood drive has been postponed to June 24th at St Michaels.

Don Alhart has requested that all Rotarians give $26.93 to the foundation to reach our $100 per capita goal.  Fred is ready and willing to accept your checks!

We are waiting until the end of May to hear if the Mormon pageant will be held this summer.

Local Talent

Jean Bendix is a local celebrity - performing daily at 3:00 from her living room, playing the piano and singing. Friday Fred and I sang along to Home on the Range. Too bad we were on Mute!!  Also making masks, our Jean has talents unlimited! Click here for 13 WHAM's story on Jean.

Greg Gray has one business in Newark that has not slowed down.  Dominos has donated over 600 pizzas during this pandemic.

Susie Earl missed her calling as a stand up comedian!  Her Shaggy Dog story reminded us of what men want most out of life - I think we all knew the answer to that!

Superintendent of NHS, Matt Cook is proud of his staff working virtually to maintain skills and add some new instruction.  They are also delivering meals to students in need every day.

Norma Reilly has been in touch with Josh McCrossen who is eager to receive his membership with our club.  We may have our first virtual induction. Norma has been part of the district meetings every 2 weeks.  Scott will be talking about Corporate memberships on Wednesday, April 22 at 6 PM.

Janet Tenreiro from Canandaigua is married to a pharmacist.  He has manufactured a hand cream and has given 300 jars to local hospital workers - much needed with all the hand washing.

Program - Lindsay Whiting

Lindsey zoomed in at the last minute to our Zoom meeting.  She spent last year in Italy as our foreign exchange student, living in the 3rd largest city in Europe. While on her travels she visited 16 other countries.  She enjoyed her year with one host family with whom she became very close.  Her favorite dinners always included tortellini.

For fun, Lindsey enjoyed clubing and dancing - but mostly going out for Gelato at least twice a day!
