In case you missed my earlier email this week, I wanted to take a moment to share my vision for the year ahead.
One of the things I love most about our club is our diversity—we each bring unique talents, experiences, and insights to the table. This year, I want to foster that diversity by encouraging deeper engagement across all members. I hope Newark Rotary will continue to be known as a generous club—generous with our time, talents, and resources.
Our International Committee is a great example of this spirit. Their work provides meaningful support to families in need, especially in areas like Mexico and Haiti. Many of the people we assist are born into circumstances beyond their control, and through our efforts, we can offer critical resources and create opportunities—particularly for children—who might not otherwise have them.
Locally, I’d like our focus this year to be on children. Positive early experiences and role models can leave a lasting impression. All of you have raised strong, successful families—you know what it takes. I believe our club can be a powerful force for the next generation in our own community.
One exciting initiative already underway is this year’s District Grant , which Lucina has worked hard to secure. Through this project, we’ll have the chance to read with local children and introduce them to a published author—opening doors to creativity, storytelling, and the magic of books.
It’s July, and summer is in full swing! We have several events and opportunities lined up this month:
Ongoing: Newark Pantry Food Drive – Weekly details on what to bring are listed below.
July 5 – Rotary outing to the Rochester Red Wings game.
July 18 – Rotary night at the Newark Pilots game, organized by our own Evie Taylor.
Let’s make this a fun, meaningful, and generous month together.
We meet at the Newark American Legion. We also make our meetings available via Zoom. If you are not a club member and wish to watch us on Zoom, please email us for the link. All are welcome to attend our in-person meetings.
