Speaker - Matt Cook
Russ Harris introduced Matt Cook, superintendent of the Newark High School. He has been referred to as a “leader among leaders” and “places students at the top”. Normally he would have been giving us a budget presentation but in this time of Covid 19, there is no budget as of yet. The Governor will look back, check revenues to determine State aid, making it very difficult to make plans at this time. The goal is to keep the current staff. $450,000.00 is needed for the budget. They have had to make one administrative cut. Matt said they will definitely max out their resources.
Graduation may look very different this year. If they do not gather they will do something special for all the Seniors - possibly gift baskets. Jim Miranda designed the signs that have been placed in the yards of all the graduates. Summer school possibilities are still in the works. We are lucky to have Matt Cook at the helm in these uncertain times.
