Presenting the Newark School District 2023/2024 Budget
- Looking at an increase of 2.7% in the budget overall
- Foundation Aid has increased
- Tax Levy increase proposed is 2.7%
- Wayne County is one of a few counties in NYS that shares sales tax revenue from sales tax collected from sales in the county with school districts - we receive approximately 800,000 from sales tax.
- Proposed tax rate: $23.11
- Our school population is remaining pretty stable. It has decreased only a little over 100 over the past 10 years
- It is difficult to compare the per student cost across school districts because services and school district costs are different.
- There will be some ballot propositions: NYS will reimburse 90% of the school bus costs.
- Please come out and vote on Tuesday, May 16th
- You can find this presentation here.
