Jan reminded us about the chicken barbecue on Sunday.
Holly announced that Newark Interact will begin an Acts of Kindness project.
Holly also announced that Fred and Trudy Hicks have moved out of their home as they get ready for their next phase of life in The Villages, Florida.
Melissa asked for a volunteer to update the club’s display boards, which Trudy Hicks used to do.
Dave Doebler was volunteered by Fred to take over as club historian since he showed up at the right time with his SUV at Fred’s home and could take all the historical items.
President Elect Mitch Ruffalo told us that Luie Rivera will be inducted next week as our newest member.
Paul Harris Fellow Recognition
Jan Hence was recognized as a Major Donor by PDG Norma. In addition to her contributions to the Rotary Foundation, Jan is a tireless worker for the Newark Rotary Club. Jan organizes and runs most of our fundraisers to include chicken barbecues, dinners from Nana’s and the Pancake Breakfast. She is active on the board, membership committee and the service committee. Linda introduced her team travelling to Mexico on April 19. Team of 15 includes Donna Johnson and Linda’s guests introduced above. The will fly to Cancun and arrive at Tabi on April 20th. All equipment was purchased by donors. Newark Interact purchased water bottles with their $250 donation collected from the can and bottle drive. Linda said they need more for donations to purchase additional water bottles. Newark Rotary participated in the send-off for the team.April 14 Meeting
