- Josh McCrossen was visiting his wife’s family in Canada
- Holly Kreuser announced that Ryan, Grace and Marc were in a triathlon. Ryan took 1st and broke a course record, Marc took 2nd in his age group, Grace took 1st in her age group!
- Mike Muscolino - AECC day camp in Perkins Park is coming to an end. There were over 200 children enrolled and a great success. Thank you to all who support the AECC

Yvesner Sylla was presented a Paul Harris Fellowship as a tribute for his tireless efforts to promote peace and goodwill in Haiti.

Program: Gareth Evans, Director of Habitat for Humanity, Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity. Also brought Laurie O’Shawghnessy and Peggy Mooney.
Habitat For Humanity mission — partners with people in a community and all over the world to help build or improve places they can call home.
They are focused on giving a “hand up” not a “hand out”. They bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. They have a Newark Build - the home was built by BOCES, they are working on getting the foundation built so that it is ready for the home that is already built. There is a new build beginning in Palmyra.
Habitat for Humanity focuses on equipping people to be able to afford the home they are working on. They provide mortgages that are affordable so that the families aren’t over extended. Mortgage payments can not be more that 30% of the family income and interest rates are low.
97% of Habitat for Humanity children graduate high school!
Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity strive to combine resources for Monroe, Wayne and Ontario counties. Their goal for 2023/2024 year is to build 13 homes.
How it works: Finding homeowners — they secure land, accept applications, build the house with the homeowner, and dedicate the house and they get to move in! Every homeowner is required to do 300 hours “sweat equity” in the home.
How it works on the back end: Each house costs an average of $230,00 to $250,000. However — $100,000 must come from fundraising - the remainder generally comes from grants.
Framing Frenzy - build the frame of a house in one day. They partner with organizations to do the building. This year they have partnered with Simon Business School, Wegmans and others. The organizations provide the volunteers.
Women Build: Women Build Ontario would like to expand to build a joint Women Build team as they work on the upcoming Newark and Palmyra houses.
Restore: They always need volunteers at the various Restores
