Birthdays:  Sue Colacino, Karen Vanderbrook, Jonathon Taylor, Luis Barbosa

Queen of Hearts. Scott Healy did not pick the Queen - the pot continues to grow.

Program:  Luis Alonzo Barbosa gave a presentation of his experiences so far. He has had a wonderful time so far — running Cross Country, working on the Sr. Float for Homecoming, carving his first pumpkin and experiencing snow for the first time.
He is from Tehuacán, Mexico from the State of Pueblo. He shared some of the traditions and celebrations from his home. He is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tehuacán.

He shared that at his school at home is structured a little different than here. In Mexico the teachers move from class to class rather than the students moving.

During COVID - they had to attend remotely for 2 years.

He loves to play video games, sports and really enjoys Physics and plans to major in Physics when he returns to college.

Luis wanted to become an exchange student because his late father was an exchange student and very active in Rotary. His mom has been a great support to him and helped him become a Rotary exchange student and he is very grateful for her love and support.

We are so pleased to have Luis be our exchange student this year!

Following Luis’s presentation the Newark Sr. High Vocal Jazz Choir sang some selections. What a treat to hear these beautiful voices!
