Invocation – Marc Kreuser led the club meeting with an invocation, Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary 4-Way Test.

 

 

Queen of Hearts – Doug Doebler not a winner

 

 

 

 

President Mitch held the Annual Meeting. He requested reports from committee chairs.

 

Community Service – Kevin Mooney discussed some of the Community Service Projects to be held during this Rotary year: Blood drives, Newark Rotary Salutes, Canal project

International Service – Doug Doebler discussed the resettlement of Ukrainian family in Canadaigua, Kayespwa orphanage in Haiti, Tabi in Mexico, the fetal ultrasound project in Instanbul using a matching grant.

Fundraisers – Jan Hence discussed the past fundraisers to include the Family Festival and dinners. The upcoming chicken and biscuit dinner will be our last one.

Membership – Adam O reported that we have four new individual members plus 2 corporate members. With resignations we are at net +3. We will have an induction next week and another in January. We will be at 99 members after the inductions.

Youth Exchange – One going out Andrea Malach will be outbound. Malwina is moving to the Malach family next week.

Treasurer- Kevin reviewed fundraisers and expenses. Our net income is about $4900 year to date. Kevin reviewed assets, which are the bank and investment accounts. We have no liabilities.

He also reviewed the Newark Foundation finances.

 

Mitch thanked the cub for their support so far this year. The festival netted $20,000 in its first festival, which was quite an accomplishment. Mitch also thanked everyone for their participation in the festival. He specifically mentioned Steve Hallagan for the setting up the programs, and Russ Harris and the Zoomer Masters for setting up Zoom meetings. We were number one in the district in per capita contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Numerous Paul Harris Fellow recognitions were given this year. Norma and Gary Reilly were presented with the Service Above Self recognition at our annual dinner. Dave Doebler organized the Salvation Army Bell ringing, which raised over $1300. Holly Kreuser for organized the Newark Interact and they ran our meeting our meeting last week. Adam O brought in many new members into our club this year. Jeff Patchen for being secretary and for moral support, Kevin as treasurer, and Marc as sergeant at arms.

The club voted unanimously by voice for the slate as presented.

 

The Annual Meeting was concluded.

 

 

Kevin Mooney recognized Gabriel Carabello and Broden Haltiner with scholarships from the club.

Broden is an Eagle Scout, 96.2 GPA student , athlete, and a computer science major at University of Buffalo –

Charles Baldwin service Above Self Award –

Gabriel  is a computer science major at FLCC.

 

 

 

Ugly Sweater contest – We got into a bit of festivities with an ugly sweater contest. Broden chose three winners for the Ugly Sweater contest. Doug’s outfit, including shorts, topped them all!

 

 

Holly led the club in a A Christmas Carol trivia contest. Lynne and Kevin Mooney knew almost all the answers, and were awarded with a number of fabulous prizes.
