Update from Wendy Hilberer regarding our Newark Rotary Salutes our First Responders. Check your email for a detailed report from her. Please continue to write thank you notes to our first responders – these will be included with each teams “thank you presentation” at the various locations (Newark Fire Department, NAVA Ambulance, Marbletown and Fairville Fire Department, Newark Police Department)

Hello, I recently received the Stott Scholar award. Thank you for recognizing me for this award. I will use the money to fund my future educational endeavors. Starting in February I will be offering free dental cleanings at the Monroe Community College dental hygiene clinic. Michele McManus — Thank you for bringing in supplies for Laurel House. Week 2 collection is:  individual snack and candy bags, individual chip bags, fruit cups, jello/pudding/applesauce. We will gather items over the next several weeks and then donate everything together.
 
Michele McManus — our Rotary Club will donate a gift basket to be raffled at the upcoming Bowling Event for the Humane Society of Wayne County
 
Doug Doebler — update on Haiti, our contacts are doing well and expanding our presence with the orphanage. Thank you to Sylla for doing such good work there.
 
JJ Cotter — is leaving her position at Habitat for Humanity to pursue one of her life long goals to hike the Pacific Crest! We wish her well.
 
Donna Johnson — resigned from LNB and enjoying some time off. Still working with Linda Werts and Living Waters of the World and will be traveling to Tabí, Mexico for a sustainability assessment. 4/17 - 4/24.  The team need at least 1 more Newark Rotarian to travel with the team. The cost is approximately $1,300. Please reach out to Linda Werts or Donna to if you are interested in attending.

Holly Kreuser - thought they were empty nesters, but their daughter Meghan will be moving back home for a few weeks before she moves to North Carolina, they’ll be empty nesters again in April!
