We had an open meeting last Thursday, and President Nominee Jim led our meeting.

Sick call – Josh M not feeling well after vacationing with his wife, who also wasn’t feeling well.
 
Birthdays recently: Maurice Strobridge is 98 years young! Scott Healy and Josh McCrossen celebrated as well.
 
Mary Jo Fenyn was selected for the queen of hearts and picked the jack of hearts…so close
 
Announcements:
  • Scott Healy reinforced that donation to a specific cause that is supported by the foundation can be donated to by sending the money to the foundation on behalf of that charity.  Thereby making the gift tax deductible.
  • Tanya Taylor let us know the rummage sale is still going on at the library and she will be creating a networking get together on Mondays from 10-12, more to come.
  • Doug Doebler and Linda Werts Will be seeking support of the club for bringing Doug’s interpreter from Haiti to the US to get away from the violence happening there regularly.  He had assistance from Linda as she was involved in the Ukraine relocation efforts in Canandaigua who are coming soon.  The orphanage is still up and running.  They will be collecting every day at Doebler Realty and each Thursday in Feb at Rotary meetings to support that and a list of items mostly Bathroom items circulated for those wishing to buy them.  Wal-Mart and TJ Maxx cards are also a good gift idea.

  3. Linda W. – Planning a hands-on activity next week to help get letters of appreciation ready. Next mtg for the group is Feb 10th at 9 am.
  • Festival suggestions:
  1. Garbage cans nearer to the food.
  2. Possibly have a Scouts or Senior class booth without having 2 charities running at the same time.
  3. Explore other bands.
  4. Canal grant application tie in.
