Paul Harris fellow presentation:  Frank All - Paul Harris + 5!  Thank you for all of your amazing support of our Newark Rotary Club and Rotary International.

Program:  Sharon SanAngelo introduced our guest, Brian Bremer. Brian is from Newark. Brian and his wife, Maria, have opened a local brewery, Runaway Blue. They are both from Newark and attended the same college.
Brian worked for Young Lion, one of the largest microbreweries located in Canandaigua, right out of college.

Runaway Blue is designated as a Farm Brewery.  Farm Brewery License – a farm brewer may produce beer and/or cider, has a 75,000 barrel limit on annual production, and must use 60% New York State hops and 60% other New York State ingredients in its beer, and 100% New York State apples/pome fruits in its cider.  Runaway Blue is proud to be be a Farm Brewery and extends their commitment to sourcing local ingredients in not only their beer, but in their snack, wine and cider selections as well. Additionally they have formed a relationship with a local dairy farm to use their “waste” oat mixture after they have created their malt.  The dairy farm mixes the oat waste into their feed for the dairy herd.

They offer on tap 9 beer varieties - all made at their Main Street, Newark  location. Additionally they offer some local wines, hard ciders, some non alcoholic beverages, and some light snacks. They are constantly changing their varieties to try to satisfy a diverse group of customers.

Brian loves the supportive culture in the microbrewing community. Owners often collaborate on beer varieties to support each other. They also are quick to help each other out if there is a need they can meet.

Looking towards the future, Runaway Blue is hoping to expand to some outside seating this summer.  Their tasting room is kid and dog friendly and look forward to being everyone's favorite hand out.

4 tanks = 1 tank = 4 kegs — process start to finish is 2 weeks

Partner with a dairy farm to use the leftover malt mixture so it isn’t thrown away.

Their operating hours are:  Friday 4:00 to 9:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday noon to 9:00 pm

As always, we encourage everyone to support local businesses. Newark is grateful that Brian and Maria have chosen to establish their business in their hometown. Rotary wishes you continued success.
