District Governor Dave DeMers visited our club last Thursday and spoke about the Magic of Rotary.

Check Presentation: Braxton Guy organizer of of The Future Run the Streets was presented a check for the group. It has over 100 participants. Braxton is also a Community Schools coordinator.
Announcements:
- Lynn Mooney encouraged us to buy a Raffle Ticket to make dreams possibly come true.
- Michele McManus said that the community is being involved for the food drive. The food drive continues next week.
- Silent Auction for Family Festival. Michele will "pass the hat" in August for items to be bought for the auction.
- Shout out to Dave Hannan assisting a St. Michael Church parishioner who collapsed during Mass.
- Ken George announced the Fairville Cemetery Association fundraising event on July 20th at the Apple Shed. Chicken BBQ, band, and can & bottle drive.
- Dave Johnson said that Camp Onseyawa is looking for duct tape for a project on August 1st.
- President Jim presented the Newark Pilots game ball to Evie Taylor for organizing the Newark Rotary Day.
Paul Harris Fellow presentation: Chuck Waterman was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by DG Dave for his contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Congrats Chuck!
New Member Induction: Libo Alexanian was inducted into the club as an active member. Libo transferred from the Lyons Rotary Club, which recently deactivated. Congrats Libo!

Queen of Hearts. Ann DeMers did not pick the Queen - the pot continues to grow.
Program: Assistant District Governor Sharon Garofanello introduced District Governor Dave DeMers. Dave began as a Rotarian in the Spencerport Rotary. He is a past club president, Paul Harris Fellow +4, retired police officer from City of Rochester and Monroe County Sheriff. Dave now provides technical surveillance training for law enforcement and the military. He is married to Ann and has three grown children.
This Rotary year's theme is The Magic of Rotary. Theme from Rotary International Stephanie Urchick witnessing a water project and a child asking for more of the magic of clean water.
Stephanie’s and Dave’s goal is Membership. Dave’s goal is to increase membership by 200 in District 7120.
Three ways to increase membership: 1) Bring in new members. 2) Retain members. 3) Start new clubs.
Is your club irresistible? Engaging? Inspiring? Change the "menu" to keep members in the club.
Begin a new club such as Environmental Club. It can be non-traditional.
Member surveys should be used to get the pulse of the club.
Be welcoming and caring.
Dave Recognized Norma Reilly and Dave Hannan as being influential in becoming DG.

Example: Hold less lunch meetings and conduct more social/service projects.
Look for younger members: Even age 55, who are recently retired.
Expand our reach. Inform the public what Rotary is.
One Rotary Summit: Membership, Public Image and Foundation together
Another focus area: Peace - Peace Pole: May Peace Prevail on Earth - Think about it at the club level.
Rotary Vision Statement. Reviewed it. "Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves."
The DG Dave finished his presentation with a Rotary magic trick.
