Strange Laws: For his final meeting as club president, President Adam described strange laws in Maryland and Massachusetts.
Announcements:
- Matt Hutteman was introduced by Evy as the Newark Pilots director of operations. Matt spoke about the Pilots and encouraged everyone to attend the Newark Rotary Day at Colburn Park on July 1st. Evy then asked Luis to give one final weather forecast for that day.
- Dave Tyler announced that the Rotary Raffle has broken even. But we are still behind last year’s sales.
- Food Closet Donation on July 11, 2024: Bring food items to be donated to the Food Closet.
- Rochester Red Wings Rotary Night is July 6th.

Goodbye to Luis: Dave Doebler, Luis’ Rotary Club counselor, reviewed Luis' year in the United States. Dave thanked the host families: The Nevelizer Family, Steve and Lucina Hallagan and the Harris Family. The families did a lot for Luis, but also enjoyed hosting him. Gifts were presented to the families and to Luis. Luis gave cards of thanks to the host families and members of the Youth Exchange Committee.
President Adam’s Farewell: Adam said he thoroughly enjoyed his year as president. The members of the club are an inspiration to him, the community and the world. Adam highlighted some of the accomplishments over the past 12 months: Family Festival, the raffle, water project in Mexico, Haiti orphanage, Newark Rotary Salutes, Habitat for Humanity. He then thanked individuals: Lucina as Secretary, Kevin Mooney as Treasurer and the Newark Rotary Foundation, Linda Werts and Donna Johnson for international projects, Scott Healy for Rotary International Foundation, Jim Weiler for Membership, Chuck Waterman for Community Service, Jan Hence for Fundraising, Russ Harris for Youth Exchange, Luis for his amazing year, Dave Doebler for Bell Ringing, the Festival Committee, Norma Madayag Reilly for keep Adam in check, Mary Fitch and her team for the lunches, Mary Jo Fenyn as Sergeant at Arms, the Zoom Team, Steve Hallagan for Programs, Michele McManus for all the great cakes. He said it takes all of us to do what we do.
