Strange Laws: Adam gave us some strange laws in the state of Colorado. One is no mules are allowed on the second flood of a building.
Announcements:
- Luis had a very busy weekend traveling back and forth to Avon as well as performing in the musical.
- Maury Stobridge’s celebration of life service will be on Saturday, 3/9 at 1:00 pm at the Newark First United Methodist Church located at 301 South Main Street.
- Linda Werts - we are taking donations for the $10 ad for the Rotary Bee-Cathalon
- Books for the World - we need donations
- Scott Healy - Foundation Update: YTD - 21,500, 8,000 TOWARDS annual fund goal of 10,000; PP goal=$3,000 we have raised $3500 ytd
- PDG Dave Hannan — District grants and global grants — endowment fund, contribute and have the $ come back in perpetuity, disaster response funds - $ donate can be targeted to humanitarian relief.
- Polio update - YTD - 0 cases in the US - Afghanistan and Pakistan still have cases.
Happy Moments:
Adam O. went to Vegas - did lose some money. Attended a show called “Big Elvis” - had a great time.
Scott Healy - his son and wife welcomed new baby daughter. This makes grandchild #6
Marc Kreuser - he and Holly went to Hilton Head.
Rotary Salutes Newark Police will be March 7th at 6:30
Holly Kreuser - Grace is in Alabama and will begin training for helicopter. Last week she had to attend intense survival training - she did very well.
Bendix’s nephew, Major Matthew Simpson, was promoted in Space Force.
Jim Weiler — Rotary Salutes the Marbletown Fire Department - had a great time and the Fire Department was so appreciative.
Jeff Patchen - returned from a cruise, had a great time. Did learn that you can still get a sunburn on cloudy days.
The ambulance salute is 3-8-24 at 1:00 pm
