- Sharon SanAngelo is in a lot of pain as a result of her shoulder surgery. She had misadventures trying to do things with her nondominant hand.
- Ted O’Toole is doing well after his surgery. He was lucky that the doctors caught the aneurysm when they did.
- Jeanne Salisbury is wearing a cervical collar and is healing.

Happy Moments:
- Holly Kreuser announced that Grace got engaged last Saturday. At the District Conference, Chuck and Libby Waterman held a very nice reception for club members in attendance.
- Dave Hannan thanked all those that worked at the District Conference, especially the Silent Auction.
- At the District Conference, we won awards for Literacy, International Service (People on the Move), Club Service (Christmas Party).
Program: Russ Harris introduced Newark Rotarian Sue Hasanauer of the Newark Central School District. Sue thanked her team which implements the many programs. She then introduced Ed Gnau, who is responsible for the district budget. He will be retiring this summer.
Ed presented the district’s budget. The budget expense will increase about $4 million to about $64 million or 6.97%. The breakdown is: 9% administrative, 74% is programs, 17% capital.
Revenue: Local $2million, state aid $43 million, fund balance $2 million, tax levy (2.5% increase) $15 million, transfer food service $75 thousand, reserves and debt $1.4 million: Total $64mm
Wayne County is one of 7 counties that shares sales tax. About $800,000. If taken away, the tax levy could increase by 5 times.
Closing the Gap: Tax increase by 2.5%, use of reserves, and unknown variables such retiring teachers, change in gas prices, programs.
Estimated tax rate: 24.96
Capital Reserves exist and use is restricted.
Propositions:
Bus Proposition - Purchase new buses
Truck Proposition - purchase 2 new pickup trucks
Bus Reserve Proposition - district will have to buy them in the future.
Capital Reserve Proposition - for the future
Budget vote is May 21 at the high school school gym
Susie Earl reminded us that Ed took Bob Fogel spot and has done a great job.
