We didn't take any photos at our last meeting, so we're sharing more photos from the Newark Rotary Family Festival. Here are three photos of Newark Rotarian Hannelora Reinhardt with Norma and Gary Reilly and our Youth Exchange Student Malwina.

Paul Salisbury gave us words of inspiration - keep smiling

Queen of Hearts
Dave Johnson did not draw the Queen — the pot is continuing to grow.

Program: Sharon Garfanello introduced DG Ralph Brandt, Jr.
DG Brandt congratulated our club for the Family Fest — thought it was a phenomenal effort and a great event.  He didn’t realize how long a 30-minute shift in the Dunk Tank would be!  He said he’s still trying to dry out!

He spoke about our theme:  Imagine Rotary and the symbolism of the logo:  The circle represents including everyone, the 7 dots is for the 7 areas of focus of Rotary (Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution, Disease Prevention & Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal & Child Health, Education & Literacy, and Economic and Community Development.  It also shows that everyone has a seat at the table.
The colors symbolize the following:
White = peace, Green = environment, Purple = polio plus
These are also the colors of the women’s movement in Rotary.
Imagine all that we can do in Rotary:  Imagine:
  • Who we can partner with
  • What can you do with the time that we are given.
  • How we can “adapt to attract”
  • How can we expand our reach
On 10/1 there is a district leadership training - please try to have as many members of your club attend as possible.

In the spirit of sharing successes he made a suggestion for a fundraiser:  Flag Project - sell American Flag subscription.  Charge $75.00 per subscription — is very successful in Bloomfield.
Imagine Membership - we need to “adapt to attract” - use the tools that Rotary has available through the learning center and expand our thinking about how and where we have our meetings.
DG Ralph has imagined a new type of District Conference - a one day event on May 6th in Bloomfield. It will be very family focused and a fun day for all.  Please plan on attending.
Thank you DG Ralph for sharing your vision with us!
