Program — John Zornow gave a presentation on the importance of the Erie Canal for the economic growth of the Village of Newark. The Newark Arcadia Historical Society is selling 200th year anniversary of the Erie Canal calendars. Visit the Newark Historical Society Museum to learn more about our historic Erie Canal.

David Doebler recently presented a $1,000 donation to Lisa Barrett, manager of The Newark Food Closet. This essential service is located at Emmanuel Church, 301 East Miller Street in Newark, NY. In addition to the monetary donation, the Rotary Club prepared and donated100 tote bags filled with ingredients to create a complete holiday meal, each providing enough food to feed a family of four.
The Newark Food Closet has been serving the community for an impressive 49 years. Starting January 1st, the pantry will have new operating hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The Newark Rotary Club extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports their fundraisers, making these contributions to the community possible.
David Doebler, a member of the Newark Rotary Club, recently presented a generous donation of $2,500 to Alice Crespo. Alice and Manny Crespo manage the Free Lunch Program, a vital service hosted at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, located at 301 East Miller Street in Newark. The program offers grab-and-go lunches to families and individuals in the community every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and every other Friday from 11:00 a.m. to noon. These nutritious meals are
prepared daily by three dedicated teams of five volunteers.
Support for the Free Lunch Program comes from a variety of sources, including food donations provided by local merchants, Food Link, and contributions from individuals, churches, and other community organizations.
For the past 29 years, the program has been a cornerstone of support for the Newark area. Most recently, it distributed 140 tote bags filled with ingredients for a complete holiday meal, each capable of feeding a family of four.
