- Rotary Drew & Vicky Kessler from Hopewell Junction, NY were on their way to the Rotary International Convention in Singapore and were injured on the Singapore flight that has been in the news lately.
- Scott Healy gave an Rotary Foundation update: We have exceeded our Polio Plus goal - year to date giving is $3,900. We only have $125 more donations to meet our $10,000 Rotary Foundation goal. Great job Newark Rotary!
- President Adam offers to purchase a $100 raffle ticket for anyone who buys a project from Adam O. not just the company, but Adam specifically.
- Michele McManus needs some volunteers to help her with the silent auction baskets for the Family Festival.
- Camp ONSEYAWA Golf tournament on June 8th
- Habitat for Humanity Rotary Build on June 22nd in Palmyra at 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Happy Moments:
- Luis gave us an update about his trip to Niagara Fall — he experienced the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and other sites of interest.
- On June 1st Luis will be in a one act play — “Pride and Peasantry” at 7:00 pm at the High School. This is a short play written be a High School student.
- Luis also went to Bloomfield Rotary Club to visit their exchange student.
- Luis would also love to visit New York City - so if anyone is going he’d love to tag along.
- JJ Cotter - sent us a post card. “Hi Newark Rotary! I promised a postcard didn’t I? Just completed the desert section of the Pacific Coast Trail, approximately 650 miles. Things are going great. I hope all is well with everyone. I thought the quote on this post card from Emerson was quite fitting for the club! Have a great time at the Habitat build in June! - Michele’s granddaughter is graduating from Aquinas and received the Distinguished Service Award. Congratulations
- Pat Albrecht - encouraging other cat owners to sponsor runners for the Laurel House 5K - her cat Spencer is sponsoring some runners and believes other cats and their owners would love to do the same.
