Announcements and Happy Moments:
- Raffle Committee - in lieu of food sale fundraising we are offering a cash raffle. We need every member to sell 1 ticket at $100/ticket. There will be a total of $10,000 in prizes, and all proceeds go to fund Rotary projects
- Frank Capozzi - re-establishing a staff person in Newark Catholic Charities for emergency services
- Recognize Russ Harris who received the Genesee Valley Assoc for Supervision and Curriculum Development Service Award. Thank you Russ Harris for your Service Above Self
- Scott Healy gave an update on Rotary Foundation: Year to date giving = $8700 to annual fund, Polio Plus - $2,200. We are a little under our goals for the year. Up to 100 points toward Paul Harris will be matched if you donate between now and the end of the year.

- Grace Kreuser graduated from University of Vermont with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Vermont Army National Guard.

Queen of Hearts. Our guest speaker, Cheryl DeMeyers did not pick the Queen - the pot continues to grow.
Program: Gary Reilly introduced Cheryl DeMeyers - Volunteer at Newark Wayne Community Hospital in many roles. Today she works at the gift shop and does the purchasing as well as being a member of the Auxiliary.
Cheryl wants to promote the Newark Wayne Community Hospital gift shop. The role of the auxiliary is to support the Hospital and DeMay Living Center. The gift shop is really more of a boutique rather than just a gift store. The DeMay gift store is geared towards the residents - snacks, room decorations, cards, etc.
The Auxiliary raised enough money to donate over $20,000 to the emergency wing. They work hard to have the gift shops generate all of their monies rather than use other fundraisers like chicken bbq’s.
Please consider joining the Newark Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary - or just make a cash donation. They try to have an affordable price point to meet all needs. Also consider volunteering in the gift store - they need volunteers - only 4 hours per month is all they are asking.
